I have to admit: this is an impressive terraform. The planet is horrifically dangerous, one of the most noxious atmospheres anyone has attempted to convert, but while you’re within the conversion you’ll feel like Cleopatra in Alexandria.
The area they’ve managed to transform is rather petite, but I’ve never seen a colony pack so much into such a small space. With a little more time I think I can get my hands on some of the financials – I’d love to know what it takes to create an eden in hell (not to be confused with actual Eden on Artera II). As expected the art and culture is almost the “best” you can find anywhere (44.BOH), especially if you are unable to resist the pretentious and needlessly expensive.
The best part of the entire operation is, hands down, the beaches. They’ve created what feels like an endless ocean view even within the enclosure and the temperature is always “just right” all the time. If we could figure out how to do this to entire planets (and let regular people live there), I think we’d all just say fuck fixing Earth and settle down for good.
They’re taking a big risk with the excursions. They offer the tourists pretty high-end, late-model pressure suits and they seem to keep a close eye on them, but it still seems like one false step in those canyons and a piece of razor-sharp rock would be happy to introduce you to enough sulphuric acid to fry your lungs in a breath.
